QUEST Overview

Currently 95 percent of Canadian's live in or within an hour of one of our 120 larger city centers.
Cities are where the majority of our resources are consumed and the majority of our greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions are produced. Decisions we take today about land use in our cities and their energy, transportation, water and waste management infrastructures will have consequences in decades to come. A better integration of these infrastructures and systems will improve the efficiency of energy end-use and significantly reduce emissions and can be the basis to ensure a cleaner, more efficient, affordable and reliable energy system for Canadians.

We look forward to seeing you in Calgary
October 23rd - 25th, 2011 for an informative and stimulating discussion about building Canada's communities of tomorrow.

imagineCALGARY would like to send out a big thanks to everyone who participated at the Market Collective and Bow River Flow at the end of August. We were pleased to directly engage with over 400 citizens and had a great presence for the thousands who attended both events.

The interactive art projects undertaken by Kiarra Albina and Heather Smith at the Market Collective as well as Dave Lieske and KyleMetcalf at Bow River Flow on the weekend of August 27th were a huge success in engaging Calgarians about current or actions they are taking to build a more sustainable community.

Please take some time to have a closer look and find out what types of actions people are taking! Clicking on the images below will open them in your web browser, allowing you to view the images actual size.

imagineCALGARY would like to give a special thanks to Alderman Brian Pincott and the below the Partners whose support was essential to bringing this project to life.

Finally, thanks to the Bow River Flow, Katimavik and imagineCALGARY volunteers who gave their time and did such a job in engaging with people. We couldn’t have done it and had so much fun without you! Oh and kudos to Mother Nature for the hot weather!

Please keep your eyes and ears open to some more great opportunities coming this fall!
